Journey to India About to begin!

January 3rd, 2008 by Bentinho Massaro

Hello Friends, Family and Fellow interested,

In about 2 weeks (17th of January 2008) a friend of mine, my partner and myself will fly towards Delhi, India. From there we will travel to Rishikesh (see landmap right of this post) and start our Journey from there. The Estimated time of our journey is 5-10 months (our visum only allows us to stay 180 days in a row, we will have to make some arrangements or cross the border somewhere in order to ask for a new visum if we desire to stay longer).

We will probably rent a house, or perhaps Swami ji Umesh Yogi (teacher of Yoga and Transcendental Meditation) has already arranged one for us. That way we can have a place of our own to return to and leave our stuff in between journeys, may we have them.

This journey, to me, is the symbolic journey, for the true one that lies within. Self-Discovery, Self awareness and the unfoldment of love are my intentions for this journey; not to see as many places as possible or to taste as much cultural beauty and disgust as I can.

The focus of this journey lies within:
Even though I am sure the outer beauty will impress me more than once and the people will inspire me on a daily basis. I am not rejecting any of that; I will enjoy as it comes to me, but my focus lies on my actual experience, rather than on the objects of my experience. Therefore, also, I do not know if at all, and if so, how often I will update this blog, but I think I’ll leave a message or 2.

——————————–

As the journey comes closer, I am getting more and more excited :).

I wish you dutchies all a good time here in Holland and the rest of you a good time in wherever you may be. I know I will be having a good time in India with my Self, my girlfriend and my mate.

Love & Light,

Osho Quotes

December 28th, 2007 by Bentinho Massaro

Read many quotes taken from the many teachings and lectures given by Osho. His words are sharp and clear and his understanding seems infinite. His knowledge about meditation, yoga and the mind is wide. But most of all, his way of expressing his knowledge is convincing, entertaining and it hookes your mind to his words.

For example, the following quote is included in the following page: Osho Quotes Part 4

“Take hold of your own life. See that the whole existence is celebrating. These trees are not serious, these birds are not serious. The rivers and the oceans are wild, and everywhere there is fun, everywhere there is joy and delight. Watch existence, listen to the existence and become part of it.”

To see all quotes of Osho among quotes of other masters of the Mind like Eckhart Tolle, Krishnamurti and the Buddha, go to:

Gayatri Mantra Download mp3

November 19th, 2007 by Bentinho Massaro

I created two similar pages for Yoga Mind Control. They are already online and they will soon feature a link to download the Gayatri Mantra mp3. The Gayatri Mantra is probably the most populair multi-syllable mantra out there. It has a powerful meaning and vibration to it that makes it extremely suitable for Mantra Meditations.

Here are the two pages that introduce the downloadable mp3:

1: Gayatri Mantra Download
2: Gayatri Mantra mp3

You can also view gayatri mantra videos with sound enabled. So you can just listen to them here:

3: Gayatri Mantra Listen
4: Gayatri Mantra mp3 Anuradha Paudwal version

As soon as I have the audio files finished I will put them online on the two upper links.

If you would like to be notified of this, you are welcome to subscribe to my Monthly Newsletter:

Journey to India News

September 10th, 2007 by Bentinho Massaro

News on my/our (Dennis, Patty and Bentinho) Journey to India:

Our ticket is bought and received. We will leave Holland halfway through Januari and head for Delhi, by plane ;). Once landed safely in Delhi, we will probably stay in Delhi for a night or 2 and do some essential shopping.

From Delhi we will head for Rishikesh, approximately 400 miles North of Delhi. Rishikesh calls itself the worldcapital of Yoga. There are many ashrams in Rishikesh India that provide yoga training. In these ashrams one can also spend the night while learning yoga and meditation throughout the day as most rishikesh ashrams have have multiple programs running.

We will try to rent a house somewhere in the upper regions of Rishikesh. The lower regions of Rishikesh are the busiest and most crowded ones. The more North one travels, the more serene and meditative Rishikesh becomes.

Once we find ourselves our perfect place to stay, we will spend a couple of weeks getting used to the culture and atmosphere of India in general and Rishikesh in specific. From there on we will decide what to do, where to go, etc. We will probably start a trip through the himalaya and visit ashrams and monestaries in the mountains. I also have the plan to join some serious meditation reatreat programs in or near Rishikesh.

Now we only need to arrange an Indian visum and get our vaccinations.

Indian masters on meditation

September 6th, 2007 by Bentinho Massaro

Indian Masters on Meditation is a newly created webpage on Yoga Mind Control. It is also a frequently searched keyword, hence I named my new website’s page like that. It does not matter to me whether the masters that speak about meditation are Indians, as long as they are masters of the mind. Indian masters of the mind often explain their experience a bit more traditional, though this is not true for all of them. If you look at Osho or Krishnamurti for example, they talk about the mind in a purely psychological way.

Here is the page:

Indian Masters on Meditation

You can read a couple of quotations I took form some of these indian mastersI include some quotes of wisdom that are about meditation from some indian masters and comment on it, sharing my own perspective. At the end there is a video of Osho talking about meditation for contemporary people.

I will update the article with more quotes and videos of indian masters that give us their definition of what meditation means in their eyes. When I find valuable ones I will comment on them aswell.

Happy meditations,
Bentinho Massaro

Sense Control

September 5th, 2007 by Bentinho Massaro

Sense control means controlling the mind through developing control over the senses. The mind and the senses are in constant correlation with each other and the external world of shapes and forms. Control the mind and you master the senses, master the senses and you control the mind an you will be free from desire.

You can choose to work directly with the mind by witnessing the mind and transforming it, or you can choose to control one or more of its sense organs: the tools of the mind. Restraint them as you become more free from desire and through that sense control develop your Mind-Control.

Here is the new page on mastering your senses:

Sense Control

It will be updated soon with several meditation techniques that bring your senses under your control and develop self awareness. You can control the different senses in different ways and through different practices and techniques. Some of these exercises are incredibly helpful and can be applied anywhere adn at any time. The only factor that determines when and where you practice them, is the amount of courage you have.

Mantra Meditation

August 31st, 2007 by Bentinho Massaro

Mantra Meditation is a meditation technique that develops concentration through repetition of a sound vibration. This meditation technique, when practiced more often, establishes a state of transcendance. What happens is that the mind starts to vibrate with the sound vibration and eventually becomes absorbed by the mantra. When this happens, consciousness is lifted to a higher level. This is transcendance.

Here is the article on Mantra Meditation:

Mantra Meditation

I included some general info about this form of meditation and I included a part called: “Instructions In Effortless Mantra Meditation.” This part will provide you with some short yet decent instructions on how to start effortless mantra meditation.

Many of the concentrative forms of meditation deal with forcing the mind into a corner until it surrenders itself to your command. Mindless meditations only aim for going directly beyond the mind. Meditation on a mantra is somewhere in between. You do hold an object in mind, a sound vibration, but all you need to do is keep listening to it and let everything else happen on its own. You have to be patient and listen but you don’t need to force the mind. Just let everything be as you listen to your gentle mantra sound.

For more information on the two types or forms of meditation, see: 2 Primary forms of meditation.

Love & Light,
Let your soul be your guide.

On Line Yoga Moves (Asanas)

August 27th, 2007 by Bentinho Massaro

On Line Yoga Moves is a new page on yoga mind control. The first in multiple yoga instruction videos online to follow. These videos show Yoga ‘moves’ on line through a couple of videos. Yoga moves are several Yoga Asanas in a row. Repetition of these ancient postures greatly improve your body’s flexibility as well as your focus and bodily health.

You can watch these videos here: On Line Yoga Moves

There are many many asanas (postures) in Yoga science and practice, however, many of them are deviates of a couple of fundamental basic asanas. My suggestion is to learn those basic asanas and practice them on a regular basis instead of getting lost in the diversity and multitude of yoga postures.

When you put several of these asanas in a row, as is done in for example the famous Yoga Sun Salutation, they become Yoga Moves, which you can watch on line at yoga-mind-control.com.

The goal of on line yoga moves and asanas in general is to get in a state of peace and tranquility. When your mind is absorbed in your body when in a posture, it becomes one-pointed and focussed. No stress and duality disturbs the mind when fully absorbed by the asanas.

Breathing is an important aspect in hatha yoga. Not only in the practice of pranayama is breathing and breath awareness most essential, in the yoga asanas breathing is just as important to fully relax the body. These on line yoga moves remove toxins in the body and when done with proper attention, they will make your body ‘lighter’ and higher your body’s vibrational level.

When practicing these yoga moves, put all of your awareness into your body. If you feel tention somewhere, breath deeply in and out as you put all of your gentle awareness in the specific limb/muscle that needs attention. You can visualize light if you wish.

The aspect of asanas that come in handy in mastering the mind, is that the body is always there. While you are in an asana or in one of these on line yoga moves, the mind may run here and there, but your physical practice always gives your mind an anchor point to return to. Constantly when it runs, it has to return to the body to keep it in balance or make it move again. Eventually the mind will come to ease if you keep returning attention into the body.

Goodluck practicing hatha yoga. Remember, these are just preparatory steps to the true meaning of yoga. Nevertheless, you can apply the higher stages of Yoga (concentration and meditation) onto these yoga moves, asanas and Yoga Positions for Beginners.

Showing Compassion; Weekly Thought #4

August 24th, 2007 by Bentinho Massaro

Showing Compassion is something that many of us find relatively difficult to do, even to those that are suffering. In order to honestly show compassion, we first need to feel compassion. Imagine someone gets angry at you because they are suffering and being all caught up in the emotion they don’t see a proper way of channeling their suffering, so they project it at you in the form of anger. They blame your for things. Can you maintain a peace of mind? Can you truly continue to feel compassion for that other person? Ask yourself..

This thought for the week is about Feeling and Showing Compassion towards those that are suffering. I know it has been almost a month since I published the previous Weekly Thought, so we could better call this one thought for the month. I’ll try to stay more up to date from now on, but you will notice that the publishing of these weekly thoughts will vary abit.

If I don’t feel enough inspiration to write some new weekly thought, I will either skip a week, or maybe publish something a little smaller than I did so far. Maybe a couple of quotes of a nice video.

Here is this week’s thought:

Weekly Thought #4: Key to Freedom#2: Showing Compassion

Compassion is the second of the in total four Keys to Freedom. So far we have discussed how to be friendly towards the happy, this time we talk about feeling and showing compassion towards those that are suffering.
